Most patients comment that the discomfort they feel during laser skin tightening is minimal, and is usually gone minutes after the procedure is finished.
How long does a skin tightening treatment take?
Most treatments can be accomplished within 20 to 40 minutes depending on the treatment area and desired results. Many patients have the treatment during their lunch hour and can return to work immediately, since there is little or no evidence of having anything done.
How long does skin tightening last?
Patients may notice immediate changes in improved tone and overall condition of the treated area. However, since treatments are designed to stimulate the natural growth of collagen, the skin tightening effects will continue to occur over the next few months. New collagen growth takes about 90 to 180 days to occur after the initial treatment, at which time the most dramatic changes will be realized.
Are multiple skin tightening treatments necessary?
Most skin tightening practitioners recommend two to four treatments, about a month apart, for optimal results. Follow up “touch up” visits are recommended for the most wrinkle-prone areas of the skin, every year after the first course of treatments.

Patients who undergo skin tightening experience very few side effects and these are most often minor inconveniences in the form of redness or minimal and temporary swelling. After a laser skin tightening treatment, you should be able to resume your normal lifestyle immediately.
