This Month’s Topic: LimeLight Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Over time, as our skin ages and after overexposure to the sun, imperfections such as redness, mottled complexions, freckles, age spots, sunspots, and tiny spider veins can appear. Cutera’s LimeLight Skin Rejuvenation can improve these conditions through a series of non-invasive laser treatments that can be used on any part of your face, neck and décolleté. LimeLight laser treatments are safe and effective and can be used alone, or in conjunction with Cutera’s 3D Skin Rejuvenation* treatment program, which is a three-tiered approach to rejuvenating your skin.
What is LimeLight and how does it work?
LimeLight is a non-invasive laser treatment procedure that uses programmable wavelength settings. This enables your practitioner to tailor your treatment to your individual needs. LimeLight delivers a series of laser light pulses, which heat the skin and cause the therapeutic effect. The result is a clearer more even complexion.
What does a LimeLight laser treatment feel like?
You may feel a mild pinching or stinging sensation when the pulse of laser light is administered. Pain medication or anesthesia is usually not required and a cooling gel can be applied for your comfort.
How long does a LimeLight treatment take?
Treatment time depends on the area of the body being treated. However, most treatments should take less than one hour.
What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. This typically lasts a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Make-up can be applied to cover the redness. Between one to three weeks after the treatment, the spots on your skin will darken, flake off and then fade. Redness and small veins will decrease and mottled complexion will improve.
How many LimeLight treatments will I need?
One to three treatments are usually sufficient to see results. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.
What are the most common side effects?
The most common side effects are a slight redness or mild swelling in the treated area that disappears within a few hours.
How much does a LimeLight treatment cost?
The cost of a LimeLight treatment depends on the size of the area and the nature of what you’re having treated. Costs can range from $250-$500 a treatment, depending on the areas treated.
